The Big Eltham Garden Project!

Over the last few months our teams have been trying to do their bit to serve people in our town that need some practical help in a number of ways. Last week we took a small army of volunteers to tidy up an overgrown garden of an elderly couple who no longer can tend to it themselves. It was amazing to see what a difference a team of volunteers working together to help someone else in their community can make in such a short time, and the joy that it brings to the resident seeing there garden come back to life!

Here are a few pics from the day:

Massive thanks to all the volunteers that joined us last Saturday to make this possible. Hats off to you all! If you know of a garden or project that the Love Eltham team could lend a hand with, please send some details through to info@loveeltham.org and we will do our best help out wherever we can.

What Do You Love About Eltham?

Last Saturday we took a team out into Passey Place on Eltham high-street to find out and to celebrate what you Love about Eltham...and loads of you got involved and joined in the fun! Missed it? Check out this little video below:

We just wanted to take a minute to say a huge thanks to everyone who stopped to say hey and share with us what you love about your town. We loved meeting you all and as it turns out it seems like Eltham is loved for hundreds of different reasons!

Thanks also to those who suggested potential ways for us to help serve the local community. The whole purpose of 'Love Eltham' is to help, serve and show people in Eltham that someone cares enough to do something about some of the areas that need a bit of love and care. Finding these projects for our team of volunteers isn't always straight forward and takes time and heaps of preparation, so please continue to let us know if we can help you, a relative or neighbour in a practical way in Eltham. We are looking for projects like tidying up an overgrown garden, clearing up litter, or painting a shed or fence! We really would love to help where help is needed.

If you have any project ideas please send them through to Chris at info@loveeltham.org and we will do our best to help out wherever we can.

As usual massive thanks to all our volunteers that joined us last Saturday to make this possible. Hats off to you all!

(Shout out and thanks also to Josh Hales for putting together this awesome little video of the day!)

Briset Park Clean Up: First Project!

Since launching Love Eltham a few months ago we are delighted to say last weekend we finished our first project! We partnered with community organiser, Kirsty Davide. Kirsty has been doing some fantastic work in the local community for the last year listening to the comments and concerns of local residents about the area. We decided to join forces, combine our resources and so our team spent Saturday afternoon clearing up Briset Park on the Page Estate in Eltham.

Over the years Briset Park seems to have picked up a bad reputation with the local residents, so we wanted to try and do our bit to help build faith again in this local resource. After a few hours picking up litter, sweeping leaves and clearing the BMX track we were happy to say we didn't find anything that that we felt would deem the park unsafe at all, apart from a small area of broken glass which has now been cleared.

Massive thanks to all the volunteers that joined us last Saturday to make this possible. Hats off to you all!

We are always looking for new projects to help serve our local community in practical ways so if you have any project ideas please send them through to info@loveeltham.org and we will do our best help out wherever we can.
